Letter Deadline

Support and Opposition letters are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 7 calendar days prior to the hearing.

  • Letters must be on letterhead with signature and title of an official of the organization or designated representative.
  • Coalition letters must have logos, signatures, and titles for all organizations.
  • Letters of conditional support will not be listed on the analysis.
  • Letters must clearly indicate position (letters containing "concern" may not be listed).

Letters can also be sent to the Committee through any of the following ways:

  • Hand delivered to the Committee's Office, State Capitol, Room 2195; 
  • Mailed to us at: Senate Insurance Committee, State Capitol, Room 2195, Sacramento, CA 95814; or,
  • Using the Advocacy Portal by clicking on the "Submit Position Letter" icon above.

Amendment Deadline

Amendments are due by 12 p.m. on Monday, 10 calendar days prior to the hearing. 

  • Submit 1 signed original plus 9 unsigned copies and 2 in-context version in Legislative Counsel form.

What order are bills heard in Committee?

Bills are heard by Sign-in Order.  Any members of the committee that have bills on the agenda go at the end of other author's presentations, or if no other authors are present.

Audio and Video Recordings of Hearings

Audio and video recordings of broadcasted hearings are available by live webcast for download or streaming at the California Senate/Media Archive website.
